est. 2015
I started Makings of a Dreamer in 2015 because I wanted to sell my handmade ideas to make some extra income for myself while I was working at PlayStation.
I did my first in person event in 2016 before I even sold any of the items that I became known for over the years.
Mouse Ears
My sister asked me to make her and a sorority sister some matching mouse ears.
I decided to add that to my Etsy at the time and it sold instantly. I was making ears every day after my 9-5.
Iron on Patches
6 months after making ears, I decided to add iron on patches to the shop. This is when things started to get really busy for me.
Full Time
In 2018, Makings of a Dreamer was making more for me that my day job. So I made the decision to quit my 9-5 and move from the Bay Area to Southern California and pursue this full time.
Southern California
Once I moved, I got an annual pass and spent most of my days park hopping, content making, and just enjoying Disney as much as I could.
I was making tons of new items and bringing them to the parks and selling at any event that I could.
Once the pandemic hit, I added live shows and that was fun to be able to showcase my stuff while being home during a very hard year.
Life Lately
I became a mama in 2022 so I moved back home to the Bay Area.
I added embroidery to the business in Oct 2024 and it has been my favorite thing to create and sell.
Being a small business owner while raising a little has been the hardest maneuver and greatest challenge. But even though it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, it has been the most rewarding to watch the business thrive while also being home to witness all the milestones of my son growing up.
